Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire is known as one of the key counties for ancient oaks, with the iconic location of Blenheim Palace, as well as several other important sites. It is curious that the county flag includes a golden oak tree with acorns, one of only three county flags in the UK to feature oak, the others being Berkshire and Rutland. It ranks 5th in the UK in terms of numbers of oaks over 6m in girth. As our home county, we have gathered acorns from several significant places. Take a look below.
