Cottesbrooke Hall
Cottesebrooke Hall is a gorgeous Grade I listed Queen Anne country house built between 1702 and 1713. It serves as the centrepiece of a historic estate known for its award-winning gardens and parkland. The hall remains a private family home while opening to visitors seasonally. It contains a number of veteran oaks one or two of which might be classed as ancient.

Estimated Year of Birth: 1710.
Reigning Monarch at the time: Queen Anne.
Story: the steward of this wonderful estate suggested we name this sturdy veteran hedgerow tree after our founder Benedict! Hence it is known as The Pollard Oak. It is not quite as old as some of our parent trees, but is a fine addition nonetheless.

Story: from a distance it feels like an optical illusion, and that this oak is not of a particularly large stature, but as one draws near, it's impressive stature becomes more and more obvious. It is quite a grand and sturdy being.
