Gloucestershire is brimming with ancient oaks, and we visited a huge old tree, with a girth approaching 12m, as measured in September 2025 (picture below with our founder Benedict).

The owners have asked to keep its location private - it is likely over 1,000 years old and is known by some as the King's Oak.​
