Burnham Beeches
Burnham Beeches is a National Nature Reserve managed by the City of London Corporation. It is a Special Area of Conservation because of its unique mix of habitats and species, including a remarkable assemblage of rare and scarce deadwood beetles. The Beeches is one of a very few ancient woodlands in this part of Britain, mostly noted for its ancient semi-natural woodland and large numbers of pollard beeches and some veteran and ancient oak.
It is home to the iconic Druid Oaks, from which we gathered acorns in 2016 and 2019. With thanks to Chris Morris and the City of London Corporation.
